A research group from Chemnitz University joined Active Aging 2.0

Headed by Prof. Claudia Voelcker-Rehage, the Laboratory of Sport Psychology is part of the Technical University of Chemnitz (Germany).

The primary focus of the lab is to understand the principles underlying the effects of physical activity on the aging neurobehavioral system. In particular, members of the research group are interested in developing  different types of interventions to promote physical activity behavior in older adults and comparing their effectiveness. Another projects concerns the how age-related changes and physical activity influence motor learning processes. The laboratory has developed a firm expertise in the collection of neurophysiological data (magnetic resonance imaging, MRI) about brain anatomy, resting activation and velocity of cerebral circulation.
