Headed by Prof. Damien Davenne, the UMR-s COMETE brings together researchers and physicians in Neurosciences, STAPS and Medicine, wishing to combine their respective expertise to tackle the theme of Mobility. Research objectives are structured through complementary methodologies and immediate clinical perspectives, especially in the field of ambulation/locomotion and driving. Since June 2015, COMETE has new facilities inside the PFRS-Health Education and Research Center) of the University of Caen-Normandie. It also develops collaborations with collaborations with external platforms, notably the CIREVE-Interdisciplinary Center of Virtual Reality equipped with the GRAIL-Gait Real-time Analysis Interactive Lab, the CURB-University Biological Resource Center equipped with small animal (e.g., rodents) behavioral core facility, and the GIP CYCERON equipped with multimodal brain imaging instrumentation, the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Caen equipped with the GigaTorque rotary chair, and the CHU of Rouen equipped with instrumentation in human movement analysis similar to that of the PFRS for recruiting patients at both sites (Caen and Rouen).
