Members of the board of Active Aging 2.0 will attend to the World Conference of the International Society of Gerontechnology (ISG) in Nice (September, 28-30, 2016).
In general, Gerontechnology refers to assistance to elderly people by means or organization using new information technologies, communication, mechanics and mechatronics. The field of gerontechnology is at the crossroads of gerontology (the science of aging) and technology. The former includes biology, psychology, sociology and medicine research and the latter refers to the development and modeling innovations as well as technical improvements, products and service.
The International Society of Gerontechnology encourages and promotes technological innovations in products and services that address older peoples’ ambitions and needs on the basis of scientific knowledge about ageing processes including cultural and individual differences. ISG works toward the realization of a society fully served by technology that is as accessible to ageing people as it is to people in younger generation.
